Dr Lucie Seyler is an infectious disease specialist and Head of Clinic at UZ Brussel, Belgium, where she leads clinical care and research in internal medicine and infectiology. She completed her medical studies in the United Kingdom at the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford, followed by specialty training in internal medicine and infectious diseases at the Université libre de Bruxelles and additional training in tropical medicine and international health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
Her clinical and research interests include optimal use of antimicrobial therapy, severe acute respiratory infections, HIV and other severe infections, and she has co‑authored numerous peer‑reviewed publications in these fields.
At ECIM, Dr Seyler will share her expertise on the shorter duration of intravenous antibiotic therapy, focusing on how evidence‑based treatment strategies can improve patient outcomes while promoting antimicrobial stewardship.
