Dr Eleni Papanicolaou is an Assistant Director and Consultant in Internal Medicine at Nicosia General Hospital in Cyprus, with a specialist interest in Hepatology. She serves as Coordinator of the Liver Outpatient Unit and is actively involved in clinical practice, medical education, and research.
She holds an MD from the University of Patras, Greece, and an MA in Health Management from the Open University of Cyprus. She is also a Fellow of the European Board of Transplant Medicine in Liver Transplantation and holds the title FEFIM (Fellow of the European Federation of Internal Medicine), contributing actively to the European Federation of Internal Medicine (EFIM), including through the Choosing Wisely working group.
In addition to her clinical work, she has a strong academic presence as a Clinical Instructor across multiple medical schools in Cyprus. She has authored several publications in international peer-reviewed journals, with research interests focused on liver disease, infections, and evidence-based clinical practice.
