After graduating from the Medical School of the University of Athens in 2002, Dr Eleni Korompoki completed a PhD investigating the heart–brain connection in patients with essential hypertension. She obtained her residency in Internal Medicine in 2011 and subsequently served as a post-doctoral clinical research fellow in Stroke Medicine at the University of Athens. Since 2014, she has been working as a Clinical Research Fellow in the Department of Brain Sciences at Imperial College London. In April 2025, she was appointed Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine in the Department of Clinical Therapeutics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications indexed in PubMed (h-index of 37, Scopus). Her research focuses on the heart–brain connection, intracerebral haemorrhage, and strategies for secondary stroke prevention.
