Alexander Rosenkranz

The internist and nephrologist Alexander Rosenkranz studied human medicine in Vienna, subsequently worked as a university assistant at the Institute of Immunology at the University of Vienna, began his clinical training at the Department of Internal Medicine at his alma mater, and completed his specialist training in internal medicine and nephrology at the Medical University of Innsbruck. Between 1996 and 1998, he completed a research fellowship at Harvard Medical School, and received his habilitation in 2001. In 2011, Alexander Rosenkranz was appointed Professor of Internal Medicine with a focus on nephrology at the Medical University of Graz, where he has since headed the Clinical Division of Nephrology and, in 2021, was also elected Head of the Department of Internal Medicine. In the same year, he was appointed President of the Austrian Society of Internal Medicine and a member of the Supreme Medical Council.
