Johannes Knitza, MD, PhD, is a Senior Consultant Rheumatologist and Deputy Head of the Institute for Digital Medicine at Marburg University Hospital. His work is driven by a strong commitment to advancing healthcare through digital transformation and patient-centered innovation.
He completed his specialist training in rheumatology at Erlangen University Hospital and earned his PhD from the University of Grenoble Alpes, focusing on patient empowerment through digital health technologies.
Dr. Knitza serves as Deputy Spokesperson of the Digital Rheumatology Commission of the German Society for Rheumatology and is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Digital Rheumatology Network. He is an editorial board member and Associate Editor (EULAR Rheumatology Open) for several peer-reviewed journals.
He has authored more than 200 publications in peer-reviewed journals, with research centered on digital health, artificial intelligence, patient empowerment, and innovation in rheumatology and beyond.
