Bas Huisman works as an internist-nephrologist and acute internal medicine at a teaching hospital. The Reinier de Graaf Hospital which is the oldest hospital from the Netherlands. He is a member of the board and treasurer of the Dutch Internists Association (NIV). He is also chair of the board of the Medical Specialists Pension Fund Foundation (SPMS).
