Theodoros Karapanayiotides

Dr. Theodoros Karapanayiotides MD, PhD is Professor of Neurology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He was trained as a doctoral fellow in vascular neurology and neurosonology in the Neurology Department of CHUV, Lausanne. Currently he is in charge of the neurosonology lab, the stroke unit and the stroke outpatient clinic of the 2nd Department of Neurology at AHEPA University Hospital. His main fields of interests are cerebrovascular diseases and neurosonology. Some of his papers on stroke and diabetes, reperfusion syndrome post carotid endarterectomy and arterial wall imaging are considered classical references. Dr. Karapanayiotides is Fellow of the European Stroke organization (ESO). He served consecutive terms as member of the Brain and Heart Council and as ESO representative to the European Society of Cardiology and member of the ESC Stroke Council. He is member of the ESO Conference (ESOC) Education Committee and served multiple times as ESOC Faculty.
